Dubrovnik to Budva, round the Bay of Kotor
The Bay of Kotor lies between Dubrovnik and Budva, so if you are moving to the Montenegrin coast it would be a pity to drive past it. Stop in two of its towns and reach Budva in the afternoon.
After the border the road follows the shore of the bay, with steep mountains straight above the water.

Stops along the way
Perast
A small baroque town of stone houses on the waterfront. Boats leave from here for the island church of Our Lady of the Rocks. Plan an hour, more with the boat.
Kotor
Kotor's walled old town, right at the end of the bay. Walk the lanes, have lunch, or climb part of the way up towards the fortress.
Budva
The last half hour from Kotor down to the coast. We stop at your hotel or apartment door.
Good to know
Each passenger needs a valid passport or ID card. In high summer the border queue can be long, so we start early and keep the stops flexible.
