Dubrovnik to Split with a swim at Makarska
Halfway up the coast the road runs along the Makarska Riviera, a string of pebble beaches with the bare wall of Biokovo rising right behind them. On a hot day it is hard to drive past.
You choose the kind of stop: Makarska town with its promenade and harbour, or Brela, smaller, with pine trees down to the water.
