Mostar and the Kravice waterfalls in one day

Two of the best-known places in Herzegovina, about two to three hours from Dubrovnik. Kravice is a wide curtain of waterfalls on the Trebižat river, with pools below where you can swim in summer. Mostar is the old Ottoman town around its famous bridge.

The order depends on the season and the border. In the heat of summer Kravice usually comes first, while the water is cool and it is quieter.

The plan for the day

  1. Kravice waterfalls

A short walk down to the water. Allow an hour or two, more if you want to swim.

  2. Mostar

Walk over the Old Bridge, through the bazaar streets on both banks and find a place for lunch by the river.

  3. Neretva valley

The road back follows the Neretva towards the coast, past orchards and small towns.

Good to know

Everyone in the car needs a valid passport or ID card for Bosnia and Herzegovina. The entrance to Kravice and lunch are paid separately. Euros are often accepted, but a little local currency is useful.
