Srđ, Ombla and the Bridge: Dubrovnik in two hours
This short trip starts just round the corner from where DMB Tours is based, in Lozica north of the city. It shows you how Dubrovnik sits between the karst hills and the sea, and it ends with the view everyone remembers.
It suits a first afternoon after arriving, a day when the Old Town is too crowded, or travellers who would rather not walk far.

Ombla
Franjo Tuđman Bridge
The plan for the day
Ombla spring
The river Ombla rises from under the rock at Komolac and reaches the sea after only a few kilometres. Even in August the water stays cold and clear.
Franjo Tuđman Bridge
A stop by the cable-stayed bridge over the Rijeka Dubrovačka inlet, looking down to Gruž harbour and out to the Elaphiti islands.
Bosanka
The road climbs above the city to the small village of Bosanka on the plateau.
Srđ
From the top you look straight down on the Old Town, the walls and Lokrum. The fort on the summit has a museum about the defence of Dubrovnik in the 1990s.
Good to know
Late afternoon gives the softest light on Srđ. The top is often windy, so bring a layer outside the summer months. The museum ticket is paid at the door.
