To Split through Herzegovina, via Mostar
The inland way to Split. Instead of the coast, the road heads up the Neretva into Bosnia and Herzegovina, and only comes back to the sea at the end of the day.
It is a long day with two border crossings, so it works best for travellers who are moving to Split anyway and want to see Mostar on the way.

The plan for the day
Počitelj
A short climb in the stone village above the river, if the morning border allows.
Mostar
Time for the Old Bridge, the bazaar and a long lunch by the river.
Split
Back into Croatia and down to the coast. Damir drops you at your accommodation in Split.
Good to know
You cross the border twice, so everyone needs a passport or ID card. In summer the queues can add time, which is planned into the start time.
